Privacy Policy

Our Commitment to Your Privacy
At Tidal2Spotify, your privacy is our top priority. We've designed our app with a "privacy-first" approach, meaning we collect as little data as possible and never share your information with third parties.
Data We Don't Collect
We want to be crystal clear about what we don't do:
- We don't collect or store your Tidal credentials
- We don't collect or store your Spotify credentials
- We don't track your usage or behavior
- We don't use analytics or telemetry
- We don't sell or share your data with anyone
- We don't display ads or use ad trackers
How Your Credentials Are Stored
All authentication credentials (Tidal and Spotify tokens) are stored locally on your Mac using the system's secure UserDefaults. This means:
- Your credentials never leave your device
- We never see or have access to your login information
- The app communicates directly with Tidal and Spotify APIs
- You can delete all stored credentials at any time through the app settings
OAuth Authentication
Tidal2Spotify uses OAuth 2.0 for secure authentication with both services:
- Tidal: Device authorization flow - you authorize the app through Tidal's website
- Spotify: Standard OAuth flow using a custom URL scheme
At no point during the authentication process do we capture or transmit your passwords.
Third-Party Services
The app interacts with two third-party services:
- Tidal API: To fetch your playlists and track information
- Spotify API: To create playlists and add tracks
These interactions are subject to Tidal's and Spotify's respective privacy policies. We recommend reviewing them:
Network Access
The app requires internet access to:
- Authenticate with Tidal and Spotify
- Fetch playlist and track data from Tidal
- Create playlists and add tracks to Spotify
- Download album artwork for display
All network requests are made directly to the official Tidal and Spotify APIs. We do not proxy, intercept, or log any of this data.
App Sandbox
Tidal2Spotify runs in Apple's App Sandbox, which restricts what the app can access on your system. The app only has permissions for:
- Outgoing network connections (to Tidal and Spotify APIs)
- UserDefaults storage (for credentials)
Support Communications
If you contact us through the support form, we collect:
- Your email address (to respond to you)
- Your name (optional)
- The content of your message
This information is used solely to respond to your inquiry and is not stored longer than necessary. We will never add you to a mailing list without explicit consent.
Children's Privacy
Tidal2Spotify is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us.
Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this policy. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
