How do I authenticate with Tidal?
Tidal2Spotify uses device authorization. When you click "Authenticate with Tidal", you'll receive a code to enter on Tidal's website. Click the link, paste the code, and authorize the app. The code is automatically copied when you click it.
Why isn't Spotify authentication working?
Make sure you've entered your Spotify Client ID and Client Secret in the app settings. You can get these by creating an app in the Spotify Developer Dashboard. Set the redirect URI to tidal2spotify://callback.
What's the difference between Quick Transfer and Advanced Mode?
Quick Transfer is designed for users with new Spotify accounts. It transfers all your Tidal playlists in one click. Advanced Mode gives you fine-grained control, letting you select specific playlists and even individual tracks to transfer.
Will the app create duplicate playlists?
No! The app automatically detects existing Spotify playlists with the same name. In Advanced Mode, it will merge tracks into existing playlists and skip duplicates. In Quick Transfer, you can choose to skip, rename, merge, or replace existing playlists.
How does track matching work?
The app uses a two-step process: first, it tries to match tracks using ISRC codes (International Standard Recording Code). If that fails, it uses fuzzy matching on track name and artist to find the best match on Spotify.
Is my data safe?
Absolutely! Your credentials are stored locally on your Mac using secure UserDefaults. We never see or have access to your login information. The app communicates directly with Tidal and Spotify APIs. Check our Privacy Policy for more details.
Some tracks failed to transfer. Why?
This usually happens when a track isn't available on Spotify, or the matching algorithm couldn't find a confident match. You can see which tracks failed in the transfer progress panel.
Can I transfer from Spotify to Tidal?
Not currently. Tidal2Spotify only supports transferring from Tidal to Spotify.
